John is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience creating inclusive, innovative, and student-centered learning environments. Dedicated to preparing students for lifelong success, he specializes in fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and post-secondary readiness. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, John is committed to equipping students with the academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to thrive in a global society.
He holds an Ed.S. and M.S. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and a teaching license in Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) from Augsburg College. John has extensive expertise in developing individualized education plans, incorporating technology into instruction, and mentoring fellow educators.
Currently, John serves as an educator in the Center-Based Program at Big Lake High School, where he is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, hiking in the mountains, road trips, and spending quality time with his wife and their two dogs. John is also passionate about giving back to his community by supporting individuals with special needs and fostering opportunities for social networking and inclusion.
